FOR THOSE ARRIVING AT CAGLIARI AIRPORT Since 9 June 2013, the airport, the center of Cagliari and the rest of Sardinia are also connected by train. From the new ‘Elmas Aeroporto’ station it is possible to reach Carbonia Serbariu station in about 55 minutes with a ticket costing € 4.90 (one way) that can be purchased at the Ferrovie dello Stato automatic ticket machines (in the Arrivals hall of the airport terminal and at the station), all ticket offices and authorized sales points, as well as on the Trenitalia website. The average frequency of connections is about 1 train every hour from shortly after 5 in the morning to shortly after 21. FOR THOSE ARRIVING BY SHIP AND / OR CAR RENTAL For those arriving in the Sardinian capital by ship or renting a car at the airport, take the State Road 130 Iglesiente to Domusnovas for about 35 min (48.0 km). Take SS126 to Carbonia from SP2 15 min (21.2 km) Follow SS126 towards Carbonia – Sant’Antioco
